Crystal Springs Sangha is a meditation group in the Soto Zen tradition.
The sangha is affiliated with the San Francisco Zen Center and Russian River Zendo, and it serves the San Francisco Bay Area’s Peninsula region. We meet weekly on Thursday evenings.
The heart of our practice is zazen (sitting meditation) with an emphasis on silent, whole-hearted sitting (shikantaza).
We sit zazen at 7:30 pm, followed by walking meditation at 8:00 pm and a service at 8:05 pm. Talks and discussion on topics of everyday practice follows until 9:00 pm. Occasional one-day sittings are also offered, usually on weekends.
Visitors and beginners are always welcome. Zazen instruction is available for first-time meditators.
